Launa Artis, 73, passed on June 07, 2021. She was born on June 13, 1948. Loving and retired LPN, Launa's love of life didn’t come to an end because shes still in our hearts today. Launa, passed away after a courageous battle with COVID-19 , surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.It would be wrong to say that Launa lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Launa stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Launa. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. Launa completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of New York. After nursing for 10 years, she went back to school to complete a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Launa’s pride was in her school and family. Launa shared her passion for learning with thousands of children over the years.
