It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yolanda Johnson, who was born on February 24th, 1990 and left us on March 28th, 2023. Yolanda was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and partner who touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, kindness, and infectious smile.

Yolanda grew up in an undefined community, where she attended local schools and developed a passion for learning, creativity, and social justice. She was known for her curiosity, generosity, and leadership skills, which she demonstrated both in and out of the classroom. Yolanda was an active member of her church, a volunteer at her local food bank, and a mentor to young girls who looked up to her as a role model.

After graduating from high school with honors, Yolanda went on to study at an undefined university, where she pursued her interest in the arts and humanities. She majored in English, minored in Women's Studies, and excelled in her coursework, earning recognition for her research, writing, and critical thinking. Yolanda was also involved in student organizations, where she advocated for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and worked to make a positive impact on campus and beyond.

After completing her degree, Yolanda pursued a career in publishing, where she landed a job as an editor at an undefined publishing house. She quickly distinguished herself as a talented and dedicated professional, who had a knack for identifying and developing emerging writers. Yolanda was known for her sharp eye, her insightful feedback, and her supportive approach, which helped many debut authors succeed in the competitive world of publishing.

Apart from her professional accomplishments, Yolanda was a passionate traveler, a voracious reader, and a devoted partner to her girlfriend, Samantha. The two met at an undefined pride parade, and instantly connected over their shared values and interests. They spent many happy years together, exploring new places, trying new foods, and building a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect.

Tragically, Yolanda's life was cut short by a rare form of cancer that she had been battling for several months. Despite her illness, Yolanda remained positive, resilient, and determined to live each day to the fullest. She continued to work, travel, and spend time with loved ones, never losing her sense of humor or her zest for life.

Yolanda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the countless ways she touched our lives. She leaves behind her parents, Susan and Michael, her siblings, David and Emily, her girlfriend, Samantha, and a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and admirers who will forever cherish her spirit, her wisdom, and her grace.
