Determined

Derrick Bean, a beloved resident of Tupelo, Mississippi, bid farewell to this world on June 07, 2089, at the age of 99. Born on March 07, 1990, Derrick lived a life worth celebrating. He was a soul filled with compassion and touched the lives of countless individuals throughout his journey. Derrick's legacy stretches far beyond his birthplace, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He was known for his infectious laughter, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

He was a graduate of Delta State University (and Mr. DSU) and received his Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was a lover of people and to know him was to love him. He had a special love for older people and never wanted them to feel forgotten. He loved playing tennis and traveling to different tournaments to play. Derrick was a true example of what determination looks like. He preserved through every obstacle. Once he made up in his mind to do something, there was no stopping him. He was a vital member in the COTLG.

Derrick had done so many things for so many people that it's impossible to count. The love He had for all his family and friends was unmatched.

Unfortunately, he couldn't always see how much others loved him. He didn't feel as if the ones he was most loyal to was reciprocated. He would say, "you don't know what you guys really have in me until I'm gone". If Derrick didn't love anyone else, he loved his brother Giorgeo Grant. They were attached at the hip. He developed fear and anxiety which ultimately led to his downfall. Derrick loved hard and didn't feel as if he got the same love back from the ones he loved most.

He leaves behind his mom and dad, Bobbie Mckine and Arnette Bean, one sister, Amanda Satterwhite, three brothers, Teon Satterwhite, Yancey Satterwhite, Giorgeo Grant, two neices, one nephew, two uncles, James (Annette) Wofford, Ammer (Brenda) Wofford, Mary Bean, Godparents, Maxine Stone and Roger (Hope) Huey, special friends, Kelsey (Quelee) Richey, Santianna Fears, Chris Bass, Arnez Montgomery, and a host of cousins, and friends.

Derrick's enthusiasm for life was unmatched, and he found joy in even the simplest of pleasures. He will be fondly remembered for his adventurous nature, always willing to explore new paths and embark on exciting endeavors. Derrick's resilience and unwavering determination served as an inspiration to all who crossed his path. As we bid farewell to Derrick Bean, we honor the memories he leaves behind, cherishing the impact he made on our lives. While the world may seem a little dimmer without him, his legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
