Sonnie Alvarez, 71, of Houston, Texas, passed on January 07, 2022. Sonnie was born on June 26, 1950. She left this world to suddenly at age 71 due to lung cancer. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

After graduating from highschool, Sonnie chased her dreams and ran a family-owned restaurant where she was able to provide for her 5 children: Catherine, Victoria, Noel, Siony, and Soinnie. 

Sonnie loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and the neighborhood all around. She was a skilled piano player and filled her home with classical music. Most weekends were she spent as a volunteer at the local soup kitchen.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on January 15, 2022 at the St. Laurence Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the downtown soup kitchen on her behalf.
