Sheila Tubman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and notorious coffee addict, has shuffled off this mortal coil. Born on November 17th, 1963, Sheila spent her youth in Manassas, Virginia under the loving care of her parents, Bertram and Maude Tubman. It was there that Sheila developed her love for the written word, which would eventually lead her to a long and successful career as a newspaper editor.

In 1989, Sheila married her high-school sweetheart, Ricky Curthose, and together they had two children, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Bertram Jr. (Bertie). Sheila was a devoted mother, always there to support her children in all their endeavors, whether it was soccer games or school plays or anything in between.

Sheila was also a doting grandmother to her two grandkids, who shall remain nameless for the sake of their privacy. She loved nothing more than spoiling them rotten and sending them home to their parents hopped up on sugar and silliness.

Tragically, Sheila passed away on May 25th, 2023, due to a sudden and unexpected heart attack. While her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her, those who loved her take solace in the knowledge that Sheila is now in a better place, drinking all the coffee she wants without any pesky side effects.

In lieu of flowers, Sheila's family asks that you honor her memory by drinking a cup of coffee in her honor. And maybe, just maybe, putting a little too much sugar in it for good measure.
