Rosa R. Abrego, 95, of El Ranchito, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan “El Vaquero” Abrego, Sr.; two children: Antonio Abrego and Ramon Abrego; her parents: Pedro and Elena T. Rosales; three grandsons: Jesus Ramon Abrego, Sr., Tomas R. Abrego, Jr., and John Peter Rodriguez.

Rosa is survived by four daughters:  Fabiola (Juan) Rangel, Amelia (Enrique+) Zavala, Frances Ford, Alma (Alfredo) Rodriguez; five sons: Tomas (Lydia) Abrego, Juan (Pauline+) Abrego, Jr., Roberto (Rosalinda) Abrego, Sr., Alfredo (Bobbie) Abrego, Sr.; and Armando (Peggy) Abrego; her stepson Pedro Garcia; one brother, Tomas (Angelita) Rosales, Sr.; 28 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at San Ignacio Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Abrego Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her granddaughters: Yolanda Abrego, Rosalinda Zavala, Alma Zavala, Janie Abrego, Birdie Abrego, Minerva Rodriguez, Melissa Abrego, Jessica Abrego, Soleil Rangel, Ash Lee Rodriguez, and Tracy Abrego.
