Robert D. Olson 1938—2016Robert "Bo" D. Olson, 78, of Rockford, passed away on December 16, 2016. He was born on October 15, 1938 in Austin, MN, the son of Martin and Mildred (Johnson) Olson. He graduated from West High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan College. Bo was District Manager at American General Finance Corp. for 42 years. He married Patti Witter on January 6, 1962. She predeceased him on June 14, 2003. He later married Renee Barker on August 9, 2016. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Blackhawk Athletic Club, 3L Club, SM&SF Cub and Lombardi Club, and was an avid fisherman and hunter all his life. Survivors include his wife, Renee; daughters, Kelli Hunter and Kari Olson; grandchildren, Megan (Garrett) Shaw, Michael and Eric Hunter; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Anna; stepson, Chris (Cathy) Barker; brother-in-law, Clifford Retzke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, wife, Patti and sister, Bette. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001, 2nd Ave. Rockford, with Pastor Dean Parker officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fred. C. Olson Chapel. Private burial.
