You Will Be Missed

REVA BROWN, 72, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed on February 08, 2021. REVA was born on September 13, 1948 to Arthur Lee Jordan
Sr. and Doris Jordan. She was the second of five children. As a little girl, momma loved laying out in the yard and letting the sun bathe her. She often talked about eating off the land and how she and her siblings (after doing their chores would stay outside all day), eating from different berry bushes and eating different fruits from their mother’s garden. She spoke about going to the country and being with her family and what fun she had.

Reva graduated from Raymond S. McLain High School in the year of 1967 and she diligently worked to care for her daughter Kimberly Townsend (Tulsa) while pursuing a Human Resources Degree at Tulsa Community College. In 1978, she became the wife of William “Bill” Brown (Chicago) and out of that union was born Valerie (1976) and Jason (1982) both from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Reva loved to sew, and she was very creative. She would make everything from a full outfit to a simple hat and scarf. Her hands were never still. She was an active member in the community and the church. She sang in the choir at Shiloh Baptist Church.

In 2002, Reva moved to Europe and loved it. Although her time was short there, travelling became a way of life from that time forward. She later moved to Fort Leonard Wood, MO., where the phrase “Momma Diva” was given to her by one of the many children she was fortunate to watch. Reva was the epitome of a “mother” not to just her biological children but many others. She later moved to Washington State where she spent days enjoying views of Mount Rainer and taking in some of the best natural scenes the United States could offer.

Reva moved to Virginia, where she would become a Teacher’s Assistant at a local daycare. She would come home after a long day of caring for children and sit in the driveway for a whole hour playing Toy Land and Candy Crush before coming in the house and retiring for the day. Reva was a little frame with a HUGE spirit and had an infectious laughter, a beautiful smile and loved and was loved by many. Reva was a dedicated mother first and foremost and she treasured her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter and cherished every moment.

In the early stages of the pandemic she was making mask for people, she sent masks all around the globe. She worked up until December 23, 2020 to prep for winter break and turned in her resignation at Goddard Early Childhood Center the first week of January 2021. She was a servant up until she could not serve anymore.

Reva is survived by her children Valerie Avington (Fredericksburg, VA) and Jason Brown (Tulsa, OK) a son-in-love Sir Avington (Fredericksburg, VA), three siblings Arthur Jordan, Charlotte Haley, and Renell Walker all of (Tulsa, OK). Reva is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Sir II (Fredericksburg, VA), Josiah (Petersburg, VA), Taelor (Richmond, VA), Elijah (Fredericksburg, VA), Jeremiah (Wichita Falls, TX), Micaiah and Hediah (Tulsa, OK), one great-granddaughter Aaliyah (Fredericksburg, VA), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and spiritual children.
