Peter W. Buehler 1947—2016Peter W. Buehler, 68 yrs. old, of Freeport passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in his home. He was born on September 28, 1947 in Dodgeville, WI. to Fredrick and Louise (Thommen) Buehler. Peter was a graduate of Monroe High School and married Vicki Croffoot on May 21, 2005 in Freeport. He was employed by Kelly-Springfield for 35 yrs. until retiring. He served with the Army during the Vietnam War. He later served with the National Guard and Army Reserves. Surviving are his wife, Vicki, his son, William Buehler, his daughter, Dawn Tanner, 3 stepchildren, Kenneth Leif, Jaime Leif, and Tammy Leif, 6 grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Eleanor Croffoot, 2 sisters, Kathleen (Ralph) Smoot and Linda (Dennis) Spice and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Christine Ostby Buehler, his son, Paul Buehler, and his father-in-law, Gerald Croffoot.Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. in Freeport with Rev. William Heck officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City at a later date. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Schwarz Chapel until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his memory on lieu of flowers.
