Paul HumesPaul Bradley Humes, 67, of Belleville, Ill., born on Feb. 24, 1949 in Champaign, Ill., died on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Paul was a graduate of Urbana Township High School in Urbana, Ill., and a graduate of SIUC with a master's degree in vocational education. He taught at Belleville East High School in Vocational Education for 35 years and taught for 2 years at Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville, Ill. Paul was a great carpenter and built many homes. He also enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake house with his family. He was a member of 1st Christian Church in Belleville, Ill., and greatly loved his family.He was preceded in death by his father, Howard L. Humes; and a brother, Rodney Humes. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Beth Humes; children, Michelle (Dan) Brasher of Ceres, Calif., Amy (Randy) Blakely of Mascoutah, Ill., Emily (James) Wittenauer of Belleville, Ill., Megan (David) Shea of St. Louis, Mo., and Erin (Jordan) Reeb of Millstadt, Ill.; grandchildren, John (Brittani) Brasher, Allison, Alexander, Noah, Colin, Jimmy, Bradley, Joe, Ethan, Madeline and Isabella; his mother, Beverly Jean Humes, nee Reese, of Tolono, Ill.; sisters, Cindy Weisiger, Pamela Lenart and Gina Wisehart; sisters-in-law, Eloise Sellars of Herrin, Ill., Karlee (Steve) Pentecost of Chesapeake, Va.; and a brother-in-law, Carl (Carol) Aronson of Herrin, Ill.Memorials may be made to St. Louis Down Syndrome Association, 8531 Page Ave, St. Louis, Mo. 63114 in honor of his grandson, Joe, or to 1st Christian Church, Belleville, Ill.
