LYLE W. 'JIM' NESEMEYER, 81 FREEPORT - Lyle W. "Jim" Nesemeyer, 81, of Freeport, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. Jim was born on March 9, 1934, in Freeport, the son of Walter and Vera (Griffin) Nesemeyer. Mr. Nesemeyer married Marlene Frank on July 23, 1955, in Freeport. Mr. Nesemeyer was a lifelong Florence Township area farmer. He was a 39 year member of the Freeport Rural Fire Department. He enjoyed snowmobiling and feeding his birds. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Nesemeyer of Freeport; son, Jeffrey (Debra) Nesemeyer of Freeport; daughter, Marcia (Bill Earnest) Nesemeyer of Seabrook, Texas; and two grandchildren, Jered (Stephanie) Nesemeyer of Freeport and Jestin Nesemeyer of Freeport. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne "Bill" Nesemeyer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
