REFLECTIONS OF LARRY
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
The journey of life for Larry O'Neal Harum ended suddenly on Monday June 5,2023 at Chrisiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. A host of family members were at his side as he quietly slipped away into eternal rest after enduring a lengthy illness.
Larry was born to the late Bernard and Elva Harum in Gonyon, Virginia Northumberland County). He was the tenth child of eleven siblings, six preceded him in death; Charles, Michael, Robert, Carrie, Brenton and Cheryl( Bobby) Della.
He received his formal education in Virginia and Philadelphia Public School Systems. Larry was raised in a hanschold of faith ( a praying mother). He accepted Christ at an early age, became a member at SHiloh Baptist Church in Burgess, Virginia. He continued his fast walk at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church.
At the age of 21, Larry was inducted into the United States Army. He served for 6 years, received four metals and awards and an honorable discharge.
Upon returning to civilian life, Larry joined the family business established by his uncle Matthew Sutton-known as H & S Builders Harum and Sutton Builders). He grew up in a family of home builders and fishermen. He learned his carpentry skills while working with his brothers Charles and Brenton. Many family members are still pursuing this trade.
As a fisherman, Larry enjoyed life on the water traveling up and down the east coast with close family members fishing and crabbing) as far as South Louisiana.
You also can't forget hunting season.
Larry was a man of many ambitions, hobbies and interests. Among them were listening to all kinds of music and could pick a few tunes on his guitars. He was also a motorcyclist.
Larry loved socializing with family and friends. During footbal season his friends became his extended family and bond in love.
During his lifetime Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, devoted cousins, elatives
and friends.
