Janice Tillman, of Rockford departed this earthly life, July 23, 2019, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born January 1, 1935, in Greenville, MS; the daughter of Henry and Ethel Davis. Janice lived in Rockford over 60 years, coming from Mississippi. She married Tommie Tillman January 21, 1954, he preceded her in death. Janice was a member of Greater New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, serving as a church Mother and head of the Women's Department. She attended schools in Greenville. Janice leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Betty (Calvin) Garrett, and Dorothy Tillman; six sons, Tommie (Billie), Larry, David, and Jimmy (Susan), and James (Linda) Tillman, and Terrence Friar; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Shivers, and Gertrude McCraley; brother, Frank Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sons, Leroy and John Tillman. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August  3,  2019, at First Baptist, 431 N State Street Burial in Lakewood Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Peoples Funeral Home, 886 Farish Street.
