James “Jim” Howard Grier, 79, passed on April 25, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona due to natural causes. He was born to George and Lillian Grier in Kewanee, Illinois on March 05, 1942.

Jim graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1960 and received a business degree from the Illinois Wesleyan University Bloomington. He married the love of his life, Sharon, in 1965. They lived happily together in Kewanee, Illinois, and together they raised two children Kris Grier (Rhonda), Steve Grier (Melinda).

He worked as an insurance broker at the former Lyle R Jager Agency, Inc (now a Division of Dimond Bros. Insurance LLC) for over 50 years. After work you could often find him playing cards with his good friends before going home for dinner with his loving wife. He spent his winters in the beautiful sunshine state of Arizona where him and Sharon have been snow birds for over twenty years. He loved to golf, but most important he loved his family. He made such a positive and loving impact on all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jim was a strong, proud and incredible man. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be missed greatly by all.

He is proceeded in death by his parents (George and Lillian Grier) and his son (Kirt Grier).

He is survived by his wife (Sharon), two brothers (Bill and Greg Grier), and his two children (Kris and Steve Grier). He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Kewanee Humane Society in honor of Jim. Any contributions received by the family will be donated there.
