Gertrude Virginia McPhersonAge: 74 • StauntonGertrude Virginia "Gertie" "GG" (Redifer) McPherson, 74, of 149 Springcrest Lane, was called home, Saturday, March 18, 2017, at her residence.Ms. McPherson was born on November 28, 1942 in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Harry Earl and Kathrine Lucille (Kellison) Redifer.Gertrude was a member of Emory Methodist Church of Vesuvius. She retired from Hollister, and was owner/operator of Gertie's Country Store where she truly enjoyed working. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, traveling, and spending time with her family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky McPherson; a daughter, Nicole McPherson; a brother, Erskine Redifer; and a sister, Betty Campbell.Surviving are two sons, Andy McPherson and his wife Debbie, and Kevin  McPherson and his wife Tracey; three daughters, Tammy Collins, Marion Rankin, and Cecila Klein and her husband Steven; two brothers, Glen Redifer and his wife Josephine, and Tony Redifer and his wife Diahanna; twelve grandchildren, Allen Carpenter, Chris Carpenter, Ricky McPherson, Jr., Pamela McPherson, Ashley Floyd, Matt McPherson, Andi Lynn McPherson, Brittany Osborne, Justine Shaver, Danielle McPherson, Hannah McPherson and Emily Klein; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.Entombment will be private in the Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.The family would like to give a special thanks to Jolene Dewey for spending time with Gertie during her battle with cancer.
