GERALD LEE BRINKMEIER, 77 PEARL CITY - Gerald Lee Brinkmeier, 77, of Pearl City, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 10, 1936, in Loran; the son of Paul and Alma (Busch) Brinkmeier. Gerald attended elementary school at Loran School (Loran U) and graduated from Pearl City High School in 1955. Gerald married Jacqueline Pittsley Sept. 1, 1957, she passed away Jan. 15, 1992. He farmed the family farm in the Loran area for many years. He later worked for FS, Pearl Valley Egg Farm and Katzenberger Construction and Brandt Farms. Gerald was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City, and he was a member of Wolf Hollow Golf Course in Lena. He truly enjoyed golfing with everyone there. He played basketball and fast pitch in high school. Afterwards he played slow pitch, horseshoes, bowling and euchre. Gerald enjoyed being with friends, socializing, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed following his grandchildren's activities. He is survived by his sons, Robin (Dawn) Brinkmeier of Orangeville, Regan Brinkmeier of Rockford; daughter, Beth Goldsmith (Tim Cleveland) of Winslow; brother, Virgil Brinkmeier of Lena; brother-in-law, Mike Block of Freeport; sister-in-law, Helen Brinkmeier of Freeport; half sister, Shirley; special friend, Hummermeier of Pearl City; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his wife; his sisters, Evora Kempel, Nelda Block, Ruby Parkinson, Millie Bowden; his brothers, Lloyd Brinkmeier, Orin Brinkmeier. Special thanks to Bonnie Dittmar, Joyce Asche, Karen Beidler and FHN Hospice. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at the Offenheiser-Schwarz Funeral Home in Pearl City. Services will be at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Art Stees will be officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City.
