E. Shirley Gaudio, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2021. Born April 11, 1942, in Shenandoah, PA, Shirley was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and Capella University.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Captain Jeffrey Bnosky and her parents John Koval and Vera (Rich) Koval. Shirley is survived by her husband Carmen J. Mazzeo, his two surviving children and eight grandchildren; her sisters Elizabeth J Pedriani of Stuart, Florida and Dr. Barbara A Grazel and her husband John D Grazel, two nephews and others.
Shirley was an American Gold Star Mother, after her son Jeffrey was the first soldier to lose his life in active duty from Schuylkill County where he called home, in 1991. Jeffrey was married to Karen (Strauss) Bnoksy.
As an avid fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team, Shirley was a season ticket holder and active participant in their year-round activities. She also enjoyed local theater and concerts and supported various Breast Cancer research and support organizations.
Shirley was a bright and diligent worker with many years in management and recruiting for Spherion at both Prudential Financial Services and Microsoft. She retired after her Breast Cancer diagnosis, although not one to rest long, she began working for her Oncologist and remained until recent illness.
