Betty Lou SniderSan AngeloBetty Lou Snider, 87, of San Angelo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016. She was born on Nov. 21, 1928, to Joseph and Ellie (Veazey) Hale in Hay Valley, Texas. On May 21, 1946 she married Otha Snider in Jonesboro, Texas. Betty worked for GTE for 38 years, where she started as an Operator. She held various positions during her career and retired as an Associate Engineer. She was also a member of Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otha Snider; brother, Harvey Hale; sisters, Ailene Morgan, Ruth Beck and Quillie Moore.Betty is survived by her sons, Jim (Kathy) Snider of Bryan, Texas, Joe Snider, Jesse (Nancy) Snider and daughter, Jerri (Lynn) Halfmann, all of San Angelo; grandchildren, Jessica (Steven) Atkinson and Kimberley Higginbotham of Bryan, Brian Fox of Austin, Trent Fox, Jason (Royal) Snider, Jeremy Snider, Amanda (David Luna) Plummer and Aaron Plummer, all of San Angelo, Marcus (Amy) Halfmann of Garden City, Marla (Jesse Cooper) Halfmann and Michelle (Chase) Chastain of Greenwood; 12 great-grandchildren, and sister Judy Freeman of Brownwood.Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Pastor Tony Valdez of Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Online condolences can be given at
