Fun-loving Buddy

Archer Lerch, better known as Buddy, aged 68, passed away April 6, 2019. He has gone to meet his family who has preceded him in death including his parents, Marty and Lynn Lerch; brother, Jimmy Lerch; and niece, Amy Neans.

He is succeeded by his sister, Susan Neans; brother-in-law, Terry L. Neans; niece, Christie Miller and husband, Justin Miller; as well as, great-nephews, Jackson and Jameson Miller and great-niece, Ella Miller.

Buddy lived life on his own terms and was constantly entertaining his family and friends with his love and music, art and photography.  He could play the guitar, or the spoons, or make music with the crazy rhythmic noises he made with his mouth and hands.

Buddy was born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, on December 14, 1950, the second child and first son to Marty and Lynn Lerch. Growing up in a military family meant that he lived a variety of places including San Antonio, TX; Cologne, Germany; Ft. Worth, TX; Atlanta, GA; Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; Augsburg, Germany; Darmstadt, Germany; Ft. Belvoir, VA; and Comfort, TX.

He joined the Air Force and worked on the military newspaper.  He then attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in San Marcos, TX; and then transferred to and graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Journalism.

He lived in Martindale, TX prior to his brief marriage to high school love, Janet, after which he moved to British Columbia, Canada.

He moved back to Texas to help take care of his father, Lynn, who he lived within Georgetown, TX. After his father passed away in 2010, he purchased an acre of land in Prairie Lea, TX, so he could be near his many faithful friends.

His constant humor and love of life will be missed by his many friends and loving family.

At Buddy's request, a celebration of his life will be held sometime to be announced in May 2019.
