William Noland "Bill" TaylorShreveport, LA - William Noland "Bill" Taylor, Jr., 90, passed away on October 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on October 24, 1926 in Dodson, LA. He retired from the City of Shreveport as Payroll Manager after 33 years of service in the Finance Department. He was a devoted and faithful family man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and accepted Christ at 17 years of age. Bill was the valedictorian of Dodson High School, received a scholarship to La Tech to study electrical engineering, but was drafted at 18 years of age for WWII. He served in the Philippines with the Army occupational forces. He was en route with the convoy of the invasion of Japan. After the war ended, he received an honorable discharge. He graduated from Business College and began his career at the City. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Margaret Taylor; daughter, Debbie Weileder (Rick); son, David N. Taylor (Sharon). He is also survived by his grandchildren, David Weileder (Dixie), Holly Moerer (Lonny), Michael Weileder, Jonathan Taylor (Samantha), Nicholas Taylor (Laura), 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents Lily Dale and William N. Taylor Sr., 6 brothers, and 2 sisters.Pallbearers will be Rick Weileder, David Weileder, Jonathan Taylor, Michael Weileder, Lonny Moerer and Dawson Weileder.A very special thank you to all of the caregivers and staff who attended him at The Glen and WK-Pierremont ICU. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be his grandson Nicholas Taylor. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park West.In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA or Watersprings Ranch in Texarkana, AR.
