William F. GarrettOxnard, CAWilliam "Bill" Garrett died at home on January 28, 2017 with family after a long battle with heart disease. Bill was born on July 28, 1943 in Lompoc California to Jesse and Bessie Garrett. Bill grew up in Santa Barbara California and graduated in 1962 from Santa Barbara High School. He then went on toschool in Los Angeles for automobile repair. He is survived by his wife Sharon Garrett of 49 1/2 years ofmarriage, son Scott Garrett of Zephyr Hills Florida, Daughter Kristen Hickle (Ron)of Ventura , two sistersDorla Turner of Fillmore and Sherril Hammerquist (Lee)of Moorpark. He was blessed to have 4Grandsons Jake Batey of Ventura, Austin Garrett of Florida, Brandon Hickle of Ventura and Joshua Hickleof Bakersfield Ca.Bill was a master mechanic and owner of Tilly's Automotive in Ventura California for over 30 years. Billloved NASCAR and tinkering in his garage. Bill was loved by all who met him and will be truly missed.Bill has been entrusted to Reardon Funeral Home in Oxnard. He will be cremated and returned to thefamily home. At his request there will be no services.
