A LIFE WELL LIVED

William Thompson Sr., 77, of Riverview, Florida, passed on November 24, 2021. William was born on August 20, 1944 Doddsville, MS to the union of Willie Clark and Luddie Thompson.

William is preceded in death by his: Mother; father; wife, Sherron Thompson; brothers Willie Clark Jr, Arthur Clark, James Smith; sister, Velma Rise-Clark; aunt, Willie Mae Birdsong; and five grandsons, William Antwain Jones, Courtney Allen Frierson, Adarrius Denzel Thompson, Aramis Du'Shaun Thompson, Jerimiah Jamez Thompson.

William worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Chicago Distric from 1965 to 1999 for a total of 34 years. He was well thought of by his peers as being strick but fair, full of honesty and integrity, always looking to teach and always willing to help.

On March 20, 1984 William and Sherron married bringing their two families together as one, William and Sherron learned the truth about what Jehovah has proposed for mankind by means of his Kingdom. William was baptized on July 13, 1985 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and he remaind steadfast in his Christian beliefs as he served as an Elder for his congregation until his death. William loved sharing the good news of the Kingdom with his family and friends and others that he met while out preaching in the Field Ministry.

William loved to have a good time, he and his wife were well traveled people who enjoyed seeing the world with both family and friends. They would always find a way to stay steadfast with their worship no matter where they were in the world, they always found a local Kingdom Hall to meet and fellowship with the spiritual brothers and sisters, and this interchange solidified and strengthened their love for the Christian Brotherhood.

William was a kind and generous man and he exemplified the words found in 2nd book of Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith."

William leaves to mourn and wait until they meet again in Paradise: a loving sister Ruth Clark of East St. Louis, IL; three sons, William Thompson Jr. of Tampa Fl, Kenneth (Penny)Thompson of Newport News VA, Omar (Marlo)Thompson of Riverview Fl; two daughters, Carla Jones of Chicago IL, Donna (Allen) Aldridge of Brandon Fl; daughter in law Anita Thompson of Chicago IL; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a loving spiritual family.
