William E. CoffinSalisbury-William E. Coffin, age 78, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Bill was born on January 21, 1939 in Wilmington, a son of the late Harold H. and Rachel Elizabeth Coffin.In his early years, he served in the National Guard 29th Infantry Division Blue and Gray, as a field medic. He volunteered for the Salvation Army as a football coach. He was a camp master and very much enjoyed scouting and was a recipient of the 45 year pin. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and volunteered on Sundays' as the sound engineer and was a member of the Redmen Lodge in Fruitland. Bill owned and operated Coffins Carpet Service for several years, he worked as a line supervisor for the Campbell Soup Company in Salisbury until they closed, and he worked for Toroid Corporation in Salisbury, from where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Louise Coffin; a son, Glenn Coffin (Mary Lou) of Salisbury; daughters, Victoria Lizotte (Jack) of Page, Arizona and Kimberly Mason (Scott) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Andrew Lizotte, Kristen Lizotte, and Caleb Mason; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Lizotte, Grayson Lizotte, Jessalyn Lizotte, and Aiden Hernandez; a brother, Robert H. Coffin (Joann) of Salisbury; a sister, Shirley B. Dailey of Delmar; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harold W. Dailey.A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A funeral service will held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 817 Camden Avenue in Salisbury. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Kevin Wackett will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.In memory of Mr. Coffin, contributions may be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church, 817 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801 or to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
