Born on January 26, 1934 Walter Rapheal Knotts Sr. the world’s most loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at the age of 86. Walt was born and raised in Albany, Georgia , married his high school sweet heart Hazel Mae and within a few years relocated to Florida, furthering his career as a mechanic at an auto-train repair shop in Sanford, Florida. He later branched out on his own opening his own laundromat continuing to meet the needs of the black community. Walt’s passions were his family, his around town businesses, the outdoors,and his love for the game of football, where he coached 3 times a week with his great grandson Markus by his side. He is survived by his wife Hazel Mae,(Deltona, FL) his 6 kids Tameko, Tasha, Marvin, Alice, and Larry (all of Sanford, FL), and Shelia (Albany, GA) his 11 grandkids , and his 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday April 17, 2020 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Lake Mary, Florida for family members only due to current circumstances of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Any other services are postponed until further notice.
