Vivian Jeffries, 86,of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed on 2023. Vivian was born on March 14, 1936 to Mary Eberhardt. Vivian was raised by her grandmother, Willie Eberhardt in Robbins, Illinois. Vivian attended Blue Island High School, in Blue Island, Illinois. Vivian married Samuel A,. Jeffries and had six children. Mary Denise (Lee) Grant, of Kankakee, Illinois; Samuel Jeffries Jr. (Jacksonville, Florida); Walter Jeffries, (Kankakee, Illinois); Kevin (Pudden) Jeffries, (Memphis, Tennessee); Marvin L. Jerrries, (Minneapolis, Minnesota), Charlotte Y. Jeffries, (Monneapolis, Minnesota) and Michelle R. Lockett, (Minneapolis, Minnesota).

Vivian moved to Kankakee, Illinois from Robbins, Illinois in 1955 where she raised her family. Vivian had several job ranging from service work to Joliet Arsenaul to finally working for the State of Illinois in several positions which included: technican, rehabilitative supervisor, to Corrections Counselor at Dwight Correctional Center. Vivian enjoyed community service work in differing capacities. While employed at Dwight Correctional Center, Vivian helped an inmate write a petition for a pardon where the pardon was approved. Vivian also enjoyed working in the community at several venues where she was involved in working directly with the public. Vivian was a straight forward, honest speaking person with a kind heart. She raised seven children and allowed several others a safe place to stay (in a time of need).

Vivian attended Riverwood Church of God in Christ where she was a member, under the direction of Reverend Samuel Jeffries Sr. Vivian was also involved in Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church in their early beginnings with Reverend John Thompson. The church was located on Chicago Avenue in it's early beginnings.

Vivian was preceeded in death by her: mother (Mary Eberhardt); Grandmother (Willie Eberhardt); Uncle (Stanley Eberhardt); Aunt, (Mabel Miller); and Uncle (Robert Eberhardt) ex-husband (Samuel Jeffries) and grandson (Kevin Jeffries) along with several immediate cousins.

Vivian leaves to cherish her life seven children with numerous grandkids: Taiwo Grant, Hakiziman Grant, Omar Grant, Akil Grant, Darien Jeffries, Ewanya Jeffries, Donte Jeffries, Keri Jeffries, Cherie Smith, Chenita Runnels, Chequita Harris, Tantia (Jeffries) White, Tabari Jeffries, Tiron Jeffries, Vivian Jeffries, Damali Jeffries, Chris Jeffries, Donnell Lockett, Dontrel Lockett, Makala Sykes.
