Violet W. Wood 1921-2016 95 of Massillon, passed away at Emerald Pointe Nursing Home in Barnesville, Ohio. She was born on Sept. 19, 1921 in Malaga, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Sarah (Beardmore) Moore. For more than 50 years Violet was a sales representative for Avon. She was also a seamstress and quilt maker. She was a long time member of the Massillon Church of Christ. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest B. Wood, her brother James Moore and her sisters, Geraldine Brown and Margarite Kratz. Violet is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Karen Wood, her grandchildren, Darrin Wood, Jamie (Angel) Wood, Andrew Wood and Tara (Greg) Sheperd and her great grandchildren, Shania, Travis, Haley, Gracie and Jacob. Also surviving are her sisters, Irene Foutty and Gwenny Blaney and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Glenn Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday one hour before the service. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Guernsey County, 9711 E.
