Marvin Lewis Woods, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on February 18, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, Marvin was the cherished son of the late Melton Woods Sr. and Annie Lou Woods, who preceded him in death.

Marvin's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service. He attended John F. Kennedy High School and pursued his passion for electronics at the Electronic Technician Institute. Shortly after, Marvin answered the call of duty, serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1979. His disciplined and caring nature was evident both in his military service and throughout his professional career at Woody's Auto and The Becks Co, where he was known for his unparalleled work ethic and a warm smile that uplifted those around him.

In early 80's, Marvin found his soulmate his wife Shirlene Barnes Woods, with whom he shared a bond that was both beautiful and enduring. Together, they created a blended family full of love and laughter. Marvin is lovingly remembered by his devoted children: Demetric Jarman (Letitia), Kitiacia Caffee Woods, Marvin Jarman (Lori), Natashia Jarman-King (Glenn), Dedra Woods, Teresa Barnes, Valerie Jones (Larry), and Alisa Barnes. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and host of cousins, family and friends each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Marvin's siblings, Melton Woods Jr. (Janet), Michael Woods, Anna Terry (Melvin), Annette Woods, Matthew Woods (Analisa), and Marie Woods, recall him as a guiding light whose advice was always delivered with care and wisdom. His family was his pride and joy, and nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with them, especially during cherished coffee dates with his uncle Gilbert.

A man of many talents, Marvin's love for music shone through in his passion for playing the guitar. He was an avid fisherman who found peace in nature, and he treasured each moment spent traveling, whether near or far, with his beloved family. Marvin was a dedicated member of Morelight Missionary Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith. His unwavering kindness and generosity touched everyone he met, leaving an indelible mark on his community.
