Thomas Lee Steele, 54, of Rapid City, passed away  Monday, June 24th surrounded by loved ones.

He was born March 1st, 1965 in Rapid City to Eleanor (Newell) and Charles "Bud" Steele.  Tom spent his early life in Rapid City until 1991 when he decided to venture out with his best friend and future wife, Kathy Wiese.   It's then he acquired phenomenal skills as a chef and grew it into a career in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had one passion in life - racing. Tom found success behind the wheel of his # 3 car winning points champion at BlackHills Speedway.  He was always working on something with a motor whether it was his racecar, motorcycle, or his next toy project.

He was survived in death by three children Stephanie Steele (Patrick Yaneff), Justin Thompson (Michelle Patryas), and Tristan Pullins. Four great-grandchildren Tristan Yaneff, Ariel Yaneff, Macen Thompson and Ivy Pullins.  One brother Charles "Chuck" Steele, one sister Helen Welch and Lovely Ex-wife Kathy Wiese.

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Eleanor and Charles Steele,  Brother Darrell Steele, and Son Joshua.

A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at BlackHills Speedway, where he will get a final checkered flag.  Date, time and details will follow.
