Gritton, 70 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce on Thursday, December 22, 2016.He was born on September 22, 1946 in Akron, Ohio. He was the son of William Edward and Mildred Hope (Whitehouse) Gritton. He moved to Port St. Lucie in 1987, coming from Akron, OH.He was pastor of Port St. Lucie Church of the Nazarene since 1999. He received his Bachelor's degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and he also attended Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.Rev. Gritton was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and also served in the Army Reserves.He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Eloise (Steele) Gritton; loving children, Thomas Wesley Gritton and wife, Vaughn Dale (Eleazer), and Deborah Michelle (Gritton) Ferrin and husband Eric Eugene Ferrin; cherished grandchildren, Alexandria Kelly Yarborough, Erik Kyle Ferrin, Ella Kristine Ferrin; brother, Mark William Gritton and wife, Linda; and sister, Lois Ann Nesbitt.Rev. Gritton was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Mildred Hope Gritton.Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Port St. Lucie Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Rev. Gritton's name to the Port St. Lucie Church of the Nazarene, 121 SW Kestor Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953.
