Thelma Woodyard, passed away April 18, 2015 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Benny woodyard and Susie mae Heard Woodyard, and was born on December 20, 1926 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. .

At an early age, she moved to LaGrange, Georgia where she joined New Harmony C.M.E. Church, Adam road,West Point Georgia. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York where she was employed by Old Town Corporation.

In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Laline Parker and Marie Billingslea Anthony; brothers, Thomas (Martha) Woodyard, Willie Barron (Mary) Thornton; neices and nephew:Gwendolyn Dodson,June Marie Billingslea, George Donald Parker.

Survivors include her children Patricia (Rufus) Cox, Arnold (Penny) Woodyard; grandchildren Allen"Trey" Foster III, Terrence(Jimeah )Woodyard, Salina Woodyard and Aston Render; nieces and nephews: Francis Johnson, kevin Talley, William Thornton, Charles (Kathy) Anthony, Thomas Woodyard Jr. and several great grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Martin and Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
