Taunja Smith, beloved resident of Princess Anne, Maryland, United States, passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 58.

Taunja was born on June 30, 1967, in Princess Anne. She attended James M Bennett High School and graduated in 1986. Taunja then went on to further her education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and graduated in 2020.

She dedicated many years of her life to serving the community as a member of the Somerset Board of Education. Taunja's hard work and dedication made a lasting impact on the lives of students and colleagues alike, and she retired from her position in 2024.

Taunja is survived by her daughter, Morgan Smith, and her precious grandchild. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
