SANDRA WHITESandra, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully, on February 24, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Sandra was born on December 18, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the oldest of three children born to Rubye Corley and Bud Conly.Sandra grew up in Rodessa, Louisiana and decided in the 6th grade that Ronny White was going to be her boyfriend. Sandra was a cheerleader for Ronny, who was the quarterback of the "Red Bulls". Ronny and Sandra would spend 68 years together living a real life-long love story. She was forever devoted to him. Sandra and Ronny traveled from Texas, Montana and Arizona, on construction jobs, eventually ending up in South Louisiana where he began working in the oilfield. In 1960 they settled in Longview where they continued to raise their family. Sandra was always adventurous and loved to travel, visiting 48 states and even Canada, many on the back of Ronny's motorcycle. She also enjoyed camping with her family and was an exceptional skier. "Grandma" was passionate about being supportive of her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities. Sandra took pride in her work as office manager for Dr. Rex Grantham, where she was employed for 25 years. She enjoyed her years of work at the dental office and the opportunities to visit with the patients."Titu", as she was known by many, was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dunc. She is survived by her husband Ronny, and her brother Bill and his wife Jeannie Conly. She will be missed by her sons, Joe and wife Vicki, and Kirk. Grandchildren, Amanda and Shane, Meagan and Alex, Monica and Blake, Bo and Kristin, Kaylee, and Sarah. Great grandchildren, Luke and Ben, Sam and Sadie, Ella and Eden, Max and Lincoln. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, and cousins.The family would like to thank the staff at Longview Regional Hospital and give heartfelt gratitude to the special care and compassion of the nurses and physicians who cared for Sandra in her final days.Visitation will be at Welch Funeral Home in Longview from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday, March 4th. The family will then travel to Smyrna for a graveside service conducted by Pastor Bobby Moore.
