Samuel Darko

Samuel Darko, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on October 5, 2023, in his home in Tema, Greater Accra, Ghana. He was born on May 8, 1952, in Tema, to his loving parents, Kwame and Abena Darko.

Samuel grew up in Tema, where he developed a deep love for his community and a strong work ethic. He attended Tema Primary School, where his passion for education and learning was evident from an early age. Samuel's determination and commitment to his studies led him to excel academically, and he was awarded a scholarship to continue his education at Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast.

After graduating from Mfantsipim School, Samuel pursued further studies at the University of Cape Coast, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Economics. His intelligence and dedication did not go unnoticed, and upon completing his studies, he was offered a prestigious job at the Bank of Ghana.

Throughout his career at the Bank of Ghana, Samuel made significant contributions to the field of economics. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail, his ability to analyze complex financial systems, and his dedication to the welfare of the Ghanaian people. Samuel's colleagues admired his professionalism, his leadership skills, and his unwavering commitment to his work.

Beyond his professional achievements, Samuel was a devoted family man. He met the love of his life, Akua Darko, while attending university, and they built a life filled with love and companionship. Their marriage was a testament to their deep connection, mutual respect, and unwavering support for one another.

Samuel was a loving father to his three children, Kwesi, Ama, and Nana. He cherished every moment spent with his children and instilled in them the values of hard work, honesty, and compassion for others. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams and supported them every step of the way.

Samuel had an immense passion for his community and was actively involved in various charitable organizations. He believed in giving back to society and spent countless hours volunteering his time and expertise to uplift the underprivileged. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and dedication to social causes.

Outside of his work and community involvement, Samuel had a deep appreciation for nature and the arts. He loved taking long walks along the coast, immersing himself in the beauty of the ocean. He was also an avid art collector, collecting pieces from local Ghanaian artists, which adorned the walls of his home, reflecting his love for his country's culture and heritage.

Samuel leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him. His intelligence, kindness, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind.
