Roger Leo Merrill Eaton Rapids, MI Loving husband and father passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the age of 75.  Roger was born on October 22, 1941 in Baldwin, MI the son of Willis and Alice (Mitchell) Merrill.  Roger was a graduate of Jackson High School class of 1959 and went on to receive an Associate's Degree from Jackson Junior College. He married his wife Mary Ellen (Halle) on August 18, 1962 and they moved to Eaton Rapids in 1968.  Roger was involved in many successful business ventures throughout his lifetime.  He retired from Builders Ready Mix Concrete Company and was a local home builder.  He enjoyed his retirement spending time hunting, fishing and traveling.  He enjoyed his winters in Aruba and his summers at his lake house on Prairie Lake in Albion.  Roger was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.Surviving Roger are his wife, Mary Ellen; sons, Roger (Denise) Merrill II, Edward (Megan) Merrill; grandchildren, Roger III "Trace", Macie, Easton; sisters, Rita (Hank) Barnhill, Edie (Jon) Rivers, and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday starting at 10:00 a.m.  For those desiring memorial contributions may be made a charity of ones choice in memory of Roger.  For online condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com
