Delores Pride, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished pillar of her family, was born on February 2, 1940. She was a woman whose life was defined by faith, wisdom, service, and an unwavering love for her family.

At the age of 26, Delores devoted her life to God. From that point forward, her faith became the foundation upon which she lived. She carried herself with a quiet strength and remained steadfast in her beliefs throughout her life.

Delores dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked as a nurse and later worked for Blue Cross, continuing her lifelong commitment to helping and serving people. But perhaps her greatest work was the love and care she poured into her own family. She helped raise and care for her grandchildren, making sure they were loved, protected, guided, and reminded to do better whenever they needed it.

She was a woman of extraordinary wisdom. Delores had a way of seeing through situations and giving advice that came from years of experience and a deep understanding of life. She was rarely one to lose her temper. Instead, she had a calm presence that could bring perspective when everyone else was overwhelmed.

And she had her own special way of letting her grandchildren know when they were getting beside themselves. When one of them was upset, making a questionable decision, or doing something she didn’t agree with, they could always expect to hear her lovingly call them “stupid.” It was never simply an insult—it was part of her unmistakable way of correcting, teasing, and reminding the people she loved to use better judgment. Those moments, like so many others, will become memories her family treasures.

Delores was more than a grandmother. She was the anchor of the family. She was the person whose presence brought stability, whose wisdom brought direction, and whose love gave generations of her family a place to feel safe.

She leaves behind her two sons, Lloyd Pride and Bernard Pride, along with her grandchildren, including her grandson Willie Pride, and many other beloved family members and friends whose lives she touched.

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the lessons she taught, the faith she lived by, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave will continue through the family she devoted her life to.
