Robert Dale JohnsVisitation for Robert Dale Johns, 64, of Greenwood, Louisiana, will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Epps Cemetery. Brother Gary Boswell will be officiating the services.Dale was born on Friday, February 27, 1953 in Starke, Florida to Carl Johns and Shirley Shaw Johns (Stone). He passed into Eternal Life on Friday, March 17, 2017, following a lengthy illness.Dale retired from the Home Depot in 2002. He was a wonderful, loving and Godly husband and father, who had a passion for serving God. He enjoyed attending church, Bible study and sharing God's Word. He loved Florida Gators football and looked forward to each game. He was an avid and highly skilled fisherman. Over the years he had won a great number of tournaments, was awarded many trophies and had an impressive catch of trophy fish in various species. He was also an inductee to the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wisconsin. As much as he loved fishing, he loved his family all the more and wished he could have spent more time with them. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda Cates Johns; son, Robbie Johns and wife Kim; three grandsons, Nick, Anthony, and Andy; a brother, Rick Johns and wife Jan; his loving aunt, Sandra Durkee with husband Chuck and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
