Robert William HewlettOtego - Robert William Hewlett, 91 of Otego, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.He was born on July 11, 1925 in Pleasant Valley, NY, the son of Marshall and Abigail (Pectle) Hewlett. He married Gertrude Sherow in April of 1950. She predeceased him on June 30, 2004.Robert was a WWII Veteran, serving his country in the Navy. A dairy farm owner, he operated Gretna Acres Dairy Farm in Otego along with his two sons, William & Richard.Robert was a member of the Otego Presbyterian Church and a 70 year Grange member. He was also a 50 year member of Dairylea as well as a member for many years of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed gardening.Robert is survived by 6 children, William and Ellen Hewlett of Otego, Richard and Kathy Hewlett of Otego; Linda and Larry Gover of Gilbertsville, April and Bud Hubbard of Pleasant Valley, Marcia and James Mumford of Mt. Vision, and Lisa and Tom Hall of Otego; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Ike and Shirley Hewlett of Dover Plains; sisters, Ella Hampson of Southbury, CT, Betty Underhill of Poughkeepsie, and Barbara Bontempo of Littleton, CO; a sister in law, Laura Hewlett of Stuart, FL; and several nieces and nephews.He was also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Howard and Connie Hewlett, Jean Wheeler, Allan Hewlett, Eleanor and Conrad Benson, Sam Hewlett, and Marshall Hewlett.A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11 am at the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, 1576 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, with Rev.
