Robert (Bob) BREWERRobert "Bob" Brewer, age 87, of Scarborough, Ontario passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Scarborough General Hospital. He was born on September 6, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec and was the adopted son of the late Joseph Tennyson Brewer and Antoinette Provost. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Armstrong and his daughter Catherine (Cathy).Bob is survived by his daughters: Carol (Chris Fox), Wendy (Joe Coutinho) and Lianne. Grandchildren: Sarah, Neil, Jessica, Amy, Heather, Daniel, Kinzie. Great-grandchildren: Kailin, Samantha, Mackenna. Adopted sisters: Bernice and Barbara (Babs).Bob had a zest for life and was always there for people when they needed help and support. He was a longtime employee of NORTEL in Montreal, retiring in 1988. Most recently he was President of the Residents Council at Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Home.The family wishes to thank ALL of the outstanding caregivers and staff of the Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Home and the Palliative Care Unit at the Scarborough General Hospital for their extraordinary care of Bob.According to Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
