KINGRichard N. King, age 77, of Okeana, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on August 5, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Arthur Voss and Helen Irene (Reinhardt) King. He graduated from Western Hills High School, attended Miami University, and served a five year apprenticeship as a pipefitter. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 33 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During that time, he was a pilot and a member of the Jet Flyers and the Flying Neutrons. Richard was a member of Local Pipefitters Union #392 and taught classes at the Local Union apprenticeship school for 20 years. He loved sports and was a member of the 1957 Bentley Post #50 American Legion National Championship baseball team. He was also an avid Ross Ram sports fan and enjoyed attending games and cheering on the Rams. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Midge (Swedersky) King; two children, Kris King and Kara (Jim) Gifford; four grandchildren, Jackson and Frankie Gifford and Brad and Caroline King; and many friends.
