Richard E. FeterlRichard E. Feterl, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Avera Brady in Mitchell, SD after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salem. Visitation will be from 12 - 4:30 pm with a 3 pm rosary on Tuesday at Kinzley Funeral Home and will continue at 6 pm with a 7 pm prayer service at St. Mary's. Richard was born on February 3, 1941 to Louis and Mary (Huls) Feterl. He attended school and lived his entire life in Salem. On February 11, 1961 he married Maxine Hipschman. During his life Rich raised purebred Hampshire Hogs and worked for various seed companies including Wilson, Weathermaster and Cenex seeds. He finished his career with Prairie Brand seeds where he worked for 24 years. Rich loved to hunt and fish with his family and his Labradors and also enjoyed gardening. His greatest love was spending time with his kids and grandkids. Richard was a member of St. Mary's Church. Rich is survived by: his wife, Maxine of Salem; his children; Michele (Ralph) Tuschen of Humboldt, SD, Brad (Karen) of Mitchell, Paul (Renee) of Lennox, Pat of Mitchell, and Terry (Cheri) of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
