Richard Anderson, 88, of Bakersfield, California, passed on March 5, 2023. Richard was born on September 29, 1934 to Ara Estella and Benjamin Anderson. Richard accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Rayville, Louisiana. He attended grade school in Monroe, Louisiana where he met the love of his life, Opal Redmon. They later married and had 17 children. Anthony, Antoinette, Shirley Ann, Rosa Lee, Sherlyn, Jacqueline, Thomas, Nathaniel, Shelly, Andrew, Charles, Edward, Dorothy Jean, Ethel Louise, Fabie Lee, Barbara Jewel, and Charlotte Marie.

In 1962, Richard and Opal relocated to San Francisco, CA where he began to work for the shipyard and later retired from that same job. Richard was a faithful deacon at the Ascension Baptist Church of San Francisco, CA. He later moved to Bakersfield, CA for health reasons.

On March 5, 2023 Richard peaceful returned to the Lord while surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, seven siblings, and wife.

Richard leaves to cherish his loving children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by many relatives and friends.
