Reginald Joseph Guyton, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 12, 2024, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the age of 74.
He was born on January 30, 1950, to parents Robert Walter Guyton Sr. and OttiLee Perry Guyton in New Orleans, Louisiana where he grew up in the lower 9th Ward of New Orleans.
Reginald served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and later studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 29, 1981.
He was blessed with two boys Adrian and Nydris, from their mother Geraldine B. Gettridge.
Reginald was married to his devoted wife, Sharon Ingrid Guyton, on May 25, 1991. Together, they had two children Adina and Micah.
Reginald and his family later moved to Mocksville, North Carolina. There he attended the Mocksville Congregation at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He dedicated his time and efforts to volunteering in his community, sharing the hope of Bible truths with his neighbors.
He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed eating the fresh seafood he caught. Throughout his life, he owned several boats and often took fishing charters with family and friends. Reginald was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Mother OttiLee Perry Guyton and his Father Robert Walter Guyton Sr. His sister the late Diane L. Guyton. His brother the late Ronald Guyton.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Ingrid Guyton. His sisters Joyce G. Johnson, and Andrea G. Parker. His brothers Robert W. Guyton Jr., Russell Guyton and wife Patricia Guyton, Richard Guyton and wife LaSynge Guyton, and Roland Guyton.
His children Adrian Guyton, Nydris K. Guyton and his wife Jennifer Guyton, Adina G. Ng and husband Timothy Ng, and Micah R. Guyton.
His grandchildren Nyion K. Guyton, Ny’Jae B. Guyton, Amir Y. Guyton, and Amili’yah K. Guyton along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Reginald will be remembered for his devotion to his family and love for Jehovah. He will be missed by his family very much.
