On the 6th day of October 1981, God gifted Mary Getina Watson and Raymond Basie, Jr (deceased) with a beautiful baby girl, Racyn Lisa (Basie) Smith. Born premature she would face health issues throughout her life.

Racyn was a precocious child having many gifts and ablilites; with her fast-talking self. She was educated in the Cleveland Public School system finishing with honors from James Ford Rhodes High School class of 2000. After graduation she attended Youngstown State University where she met the love of her life Marcus Hosa David Smith.

Marcus and Racyn were united in marriage August 12, 2006. THey were blessed with the miracle of Maximus Alek Smith on May 2015. They enjoyed life together for 20 years.

After leaving Youngstown due to health issues, Racyn was not going to let anything stop her. She was a math whiz with an entrepreneurs Spirit. She became an Assistant Preschool Teacher, Licensed Insurance Agent, a Tax Preparer, Math Tutor, Budget Counselor, Paparazzi Consultant and Caregiver. She also prepared and delivered delicious nutritional meals to her customers.

Racyn loved the Lord and accepted Christ at a young age. She acknowledge her call to ministry and was licensed in 2008 under the tutelage of Pastor Reginald Willis at Philemon Community Baptist Church.

Her passion was working with children and families. She served on our Family Ministry Event team, playing an active part in our Summer Sports Camp. In 2018 she became a Co-Coordinator for the Preschool Children Ministry where she supported and trained kid ministry volunteers. Racyn had a way of knowing when a volunteer or mother needed a listening, non-judgemental ear or word of encouragement.

Racyn loved her family. She planned and attended many family reniouns. She enjoyed cooking, music, and movies. Racyn was affectionately known as \\\"Rachel,\\\" \\\"Racy,\\\" and \\\"Racine Wisconsin.\\\" On the 14th day of January God called Racyn Lisa Smith home.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her Husband Marcus and son Maximus. Siblings: Dontrell, Alyse, Cynel and Tionna (Step-Sister). Mary (special dad: Darryl Graham); Grandmother: Alice Watson. Aunts: Guinevere Watson, Madrid (Andre) Tramble, Uncle Alex (Gina) Muhammad. Great Aunt: Minnie White, Nieces: Jayla Torbet, Taylor Smith Trinity Fullwood. Nephews: Jaiden Sanders, Amar Tramble, Jordyn Tramble, Gabriel Muhammad, Baja Muhammad, Rasheed Muhammad. Soul Sisters: Monica Holiday and Tyshar Smith. Loving in-laws: Charlene Smith, Tyrone (Mertice) Smith Grandma Lou Jennett, Leeshon Williams (step-father) and the Wilburn-Williams family along with a host of relatives and friends.
