We are saddened to announce that Preston E KennieSr of Gorham who was born on December 29, 1946, in Lewiston , Maine, United States peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior on May 3, 2026. Preston was the beloved son of William E Kennie Sr and Julia C Danforth Kennie.
In 1965, Preston married the love of his life, Vicki G Kennie, and together they had three children. He is survived by his children Preston E Kennie Jr (spouse Monica), Michael J Kennie (spouse Melody), and Allyson M Mayberry (spouse Mark), Preston was “Bumpa” to seven grandchildren , Destiny(Joe) Felicia(Taylor) Virginia(Guy) James ( Lindsey) Joseph Christopher Matthew , 4 great grandchildren Guy , Shirley , Calvin and Jack. Also Uncle to many nieces and nephews .
Preston attended Westbrook High School and later worked as a trailer truck driver. He retired in 2008 after a traumatic brain injury and many years of dedication to his job. Preston was a member of Little Falls Bible Church where he was a Deacon and Trustee Preston was known for his involvement in the community, especially as the driver who took Michael’s Scout troop to attend the national jamboree at Fort AP Hill in Virginia later becoming an assistant Scout master and helping with two trips to Baxter State Park.
In his free time, Preston enjoyed family camping trips, bowling leagues, and attending races at Beechridge Speedway instilling the love of racing in his children and grandsons. He even became part of a pit crew for the Manchester race team along with his sons. . Preston was a loving and supportive father, grandfather annd great grandfather always present at the events and sports games of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and friends children.
One of Preston's greatest joys was embarking on road trips to Florida with his brother Henry and wife Flo, visiting friends from all around the US and Canada. He will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and dedication to his family.
Preston was predeceased by his parents a son Sean and great grandson William as well as his brothers William E jr ( Marilyn) Henry W( Floella) Donald .
Preston Kennie passed away due to complications from pneumonia. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
