Jul 12, 1946 - Sep 16, 2015
This obituary is administered by:
July 12, 1946 - Sept. 16, 2015 Patricia Ann Preece of El Centro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednes-day, September 16, 2015. She was 69 years old. Patricia was born on July 12, 1946 to Lillian and Tony Terribilini in Braw-ley, CA. She was the old-est of three sisters and grew up on a dairy farm. She attended Ben Hulse Elementary School in Im-perial, graduated from Central Union High School in 1964 and Impe-rial Valley College. Patricia married her high school sweetheart October 29, 1966, and they were married 48 years. They made their home in El Centro, where she was employed for the Imperial Irrigation Dis-trict and Calexico Post Office. After that, she and Jim started their family farming business where they worked alongside each other. She was the bookkeeper for 48 years. Pat even enjoyed work-ing with Jim irrigating fields and bailing hay! Patricia was a loving, kind, energetic, generous and hard working wom-an. She loved spending time with her family. Family was everything to her and she always put her family first. She was very involved in her three children's lives, and never missed any of their activities. Whether, it was homework, watching their sports, 4-H projects, she loved helping them with their steer projects or even loading up the horses to get to a horse show. She was always ready and happy to go! When the seven grand-children came along, this was her greatest delight. Even though her house got crazy sometimes with 7 kids running around, she loved the chaos in her home. Her grandkids loved learning from her how to sew, cook and bake. Pat loved to bake her Pumpkin pie, German chocolate cake and carrot cakes for birthdays! Nona passed on some of her baking skills to her oldest granddaughter, Camille who learned how to mas-ter the pumpkin pie! Pat loved to cook and could always be found in the kitchen. She loved taking care of everyone in her family and made sure everyone was well fed. Pat always had breakfast, lunch and dinner ready. Even if Jim, James and Ty were out in the fields, she would take the food out to the field. She was a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother. Pat was known as "Nona/Noni" to all of her grandchil-dren. She was always on the go watching their ac-tivities or watching the kids play in her pool! Pat loved all the daily visits from the grandkids and enjoyed taking the grandkids to mass on Sundays. The "Padres" were her favorite team and she looked forward to her Sunday football games with her husband Jim and son Ty. Pat could be found often reading books and was avid read-er. She also never wanted to miss her 5:30 a.m. workout at the gym doing yoga. She loved eating lobster, and steak and en-joyed making Ty's favor-ite, hamburger tacos. Pat had a passion for traveling with Jim. They took many cruises all over and enjoyed many different places. Every year, she looked forward to her yearly camping trip to the desert with her family and her jeep rides with Jim! She was in-volved with Meadows Union 4-H and passed on her sewings skills to young children for nu-merous years. Pat was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and I.V. Swiss Club. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lillian Terri-bilini. Patricia is survived by her husband Jim Preece of El Centro; her three children, James (Tifani) Preece, Cindee (Roy) Strahm, Tyson Preece; seven grandchildren, Ca-mille Preece, Morgan Preece, Raegan Preece, Demi Preece, Tate Pree-ce, Ellison Strahm, Eva Strahm; two sisters, Emi-ly (John) Stinson of Den-ver, Christina (Kirk) Stewart of Imperial and many more family and relatives. Mass will be held Tues-day, September 29, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 9 a.m. with Fa-ther Mark Edney. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro. In lieu of flowers the family suggests all dona-tions to be made to St. Mary Catholic Church. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Nancy Nale and Kelly Grace for all their help, kindness, generosity and most importantly their love to Mom. "Rest in Peace Mom", we love you.
