(Carey), 61, Okemos, passed away at home suddenly on Tuesday, September 26th.Pamela was born on August 28th, 1956, in San Diego California and was a resident of California until she graduated from Stanford University.It is with great sorrow that Pamela is not with us any more. She meant so much to us and all of whom she encountered. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with her children and grandson. Pamela was an active member of the American Association of University Women, a passion she shared with her mother. Pamela loved conversation and the many outdoor adventures she shared with her husband and family. Pamela was an accomplished pianist, chef and loved gardening.Pamela is survived by her loving husband Daniel Carey, daughter Kathryn Carey; son Collin Brennan-Carey; daughter in-law Lisa Brennan-Carey; grandson Flynn Carey; father George Pommerenke; stepmother Judy Pommerenke; brother Robert Steele; sister in-law Beverly Steele; niece Jenifer Steele; nephew Buddy Steele; brother Steven Pommerenke; aunt Carol Brunner; uncle Mike Brunner; cousin Scott Brunner; niece Natalie Brunner; her dearest friend Suzanne Stout.She is preceded in death by parents Marlene Pommerenke and stepfather Melquiades Calderon.A Private Memorial will be held at Sun Set cliffs in San Diego, Mankato Minnesota, and Sleeping Bear Dunes in Northern Michigan.Contributions in Memory of Pamela may be made to the American Association of University Women.
