TUSCALOOSA – Oren Cever Johnson, age 93, of Tuscaloosa, died December 8, 2016 at Heritage Healthcare. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Family visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with the public visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Johnson; parents, Walter and Ethel Johnson; and brothers, James, Willie, Leo and Charles Johnson.Survivors include his sons, Timothy Johnson and Carl Johnson; sisters, Clara Mae Boozer and Mamie Pritchett; grandchildren, April Sewell and Bryan Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Lizzie and Ryan Sewell.Mr. Johnson was born on September 7, 1923 in Akron, Ala. He graduated high school and worked in the Mobile Ship Yards before joining the Navy during World War II.Mr. Johnson worked at the BF Goodrich plant for over 20 years before retiring.
