Noah Tyndal "Jack" Richardson, IIIA True American Hero, Noah Tyndal (Jack) Richardson III, 93, was born on November 5,1923 in Greenville, SC. A resident of Quincy, FL who spent his latter years in Panama City Beach, FL, was called home to join his loving wife Gloria on September 28, 2017. Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18.He served in WWII as part of the elite Edson's 1st Marine Raider Battalion and fought valiantly at Tulagi, New Georgia, and Guadalcanal, including major battles such as the Battle of Bloody Ridge, first and second Matanikau, Tasimboko Raid, and Edson's Ridge among others that were critical in shaping the outcome of WWII. Upon returning from the war he attended the University of Florida, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served as president of the Edson's Raider Association, as well as District Commander of the Quincy American Legion. He was owner of Williams Construction of Quincy, FL.If he wasn't watching the Florida Gators, he would spend time with his family and friends at his beach house in Panama City Beach, FL. Due to his long, active life he built friendships that spanned across generations. He was known to live life to the fullest. He loved God, family, country….and the Gators.Jack is survived by his two daughters, Jan Richardson Rippetoe Quincy/ Tallahassee, FL and Lynn Richardson Burgess & husband Jim Burgess Birmingham, AL.Also left to treasure his memory are his four grandchildren Erin Rippetoe Treadwell Destin, FL; Thomas Bennett Rippetoe, Jr Tallahassee, FL; James Owen Burgess and wife Chelsea Burgess Birmingham, AL; Charles Jackson Burgess, Birmingham, AL.Great grandchildren Tyndal and Tolan Treadwell (Erin Treadwell); Caroline, Connor, Camille, and Campbell Burgess (Owen and Chelsea Burgess); as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be at Centenary United Methodist Church on Monday October 2, 2017, from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with full military honors. There will be a reception following services to celebrate Jack's life at Quincy Garden Center, 204 East Jefferson Street. Memorials can be sent to Centenary United Methodist Church.Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
