Son of Mary Agnes (Scott) Proffit and Jerome J. Proffit, survived by his wife of 50 years Sherry (Flatinger) Proffit, daughter Michelle (Proffit) Humphrey (spouse Harold), son Michael Proffit. Grandfather to Jackie, Keith, Shayne, and Kyle Proffit.

Michael Proffit loved his kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Proffit served in the United States Marines and was proud to serve his country.
