With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Britton, beloved husband, father, and Paps. Mike was born on February 16, 1959, in Huntsville, Alabama, to John Clayton and Edna Lue Britton. Mike passed away on June 8, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

Michaelene had the pleasure of marrying this wonderful man in 1992, and together they raised three children: Jason Britton (Kim), Michael Gulock, and Brian Gulock (Allison). He leaves behind five adored grandchildren Hannah and Luke Britton, Graham, Adalyn and Asher Gulock. He also leaves behind one brother, Steve Britton (Pam), two sisters, Ruth Crabb (John), Judy Johnson (Wayne), and numerous nieces and nephews in Alabama and Michigan who loved and adored him.

Mike was a graduate of Hazel Green High School, class of 1977. He spent his working years at IBEW Local 58 in Michigan, where he made many lifelong friendships before retiring in 2024.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed reading, fishing, deer watching and spending time with his beloved dog Willow. He always had a joke ready to make others laugh and was known for his quick wit and infectious smile.

Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to your local cancer research foundation in honor of Mike’s love for his family.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
